Ladies or prostitutes...?

Prison warder from Sudbury Open prison, being interviewed on the radio:

I saw two females leaving the prison first thing in the morning. They had clearly been there all night. I am not sure if they were prostitutes or ladies.

Here is a tip: ladies wear tiaras and fox fur stoles, whilst prostitutes wear bright red lipstick and suspender belts. Hope this helps...

Thank you Ms Melancholy - it needed crystalising.

I have been known to wear bright red lipstick and a suspender belt.

Ms P - always glad to be of service. The poor chap was in quite a pickle, not knowing if he had witnessed females, ladies or hookers.

Caroline - I maintain, you are one classy bird. Now put that suspender belt on and do those dishes.

What about a woman in a tiara and bright red lipstick? What sort of name would such a deviant hybrid receive?

Mr Moon, are you trying to confuse us? I was sure it was that simple...

Yip. I've got a tiara too ;-0

Caroline, Juliet - are you trying to tell me that there is no such thing as the madonna/whore divide...?

I saw such a woman (lipstick and a tiara) on television. I just wanna know what she is.

Well, Mr Moon, I think 'woman' fits the bill very well. Neither madonna nor whore.

I have been known to wear red lipstick and a tiara and suspenders *all at the same time*. I bet that I would confuse the poor chap even more.

Rachel, I am so glad you left off the fox fur stole...

No no no. Ladies are paid by card, professionals in cash.

BTW, a woman in a tiara and bright red lipstick is probably a boy.

Ah, Little Bear thank you for the laugh! My son loves to wear my high heels, and fights with his step-sister over whose turn it is. I shall keep a very close eye on my tiara. The red lipstick is hidden away for special occassions... (I don't think you really meant dressing up for small boys, but that's what it reminded me of.)
